God's Love for You

Does the average Christian today really grasp how much God loves them?  I guess us mere humans can’t understand what unfailing love is, a love that cannot end.  That is what the Bible says God has for those that are His children.  If we are part of His eternal family than we have His unfailing love here on earth also.

And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.  No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38,39

When we were steeped in sin He came and dwelt among us, filled with the fullness of God to be one with us, so that through His Grace we might attain righteousness.  In a criminal’s death on the cross, He paid man’s sin ransom.  From His highest Excellency He came, His divinity clothed in humanity to the depths of humility, for you and for me.  You cannot measure that Love.  That is how much God can Love to secure our restoration.

Christ, our Savior, who was absolute perfection, became sin for fallen man. He did not know sin by the experience of sinning, but He bore the terrible weight of the guilt of the whole world.  By the cross Christ sought to draw all to Himself. Through the Holy Spirit, a ministry of mental and spiritual healing would bring man back to God.  It is the Holy Spirit that convicts us of our sins and draws us to repentance and Christ, and it is God who justifies and pardons.   Satan will continue to accuse, deceive and try to destroy but God will always hold open the door of refuge and justify anyone who enters through that door.  Knock and it will be open for you.

If God be for us, who can be against us?

God’s love for us is not based on our perfection, merit, or accomplishments. He’s not counting how many times we pray each day, how much money we give to charity, or how much time we spend volunteering in soup kitchens, or if we warmed a church pew last Sunday.  God sees us at our worst and brings out our best.  He can look at a sinner and see a saint.  “…the Lord delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love”.
