Many people often wonder what it means when they read references in the Bible, about God’s elect.  Who are God’s elect?  Am I one of God’s elect?  How can I become one of God’s elect? 

It is referred to as being those chosen before the foundations of the earth.  When you think about that statement in itself, it boggles the mind.  The Creator of everything was thinking about you before He even created this world we live in.  Wow!  That is, if you are one of His elect.  But, does before the foundations mean that all are predestined?    "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified." Romans 8:28-30 So it qualifies it a bit and states, for them that Love God. 

So to sum this up I want to post something I read concerning Bible election.  It goes like this;

The voting is going on all the time;

God, He is voting for you;

and the devil, he is voting against you;

and whichever way you vote,

that is the way the election goes!

Plain and simple, each decides their own election by the choices they make.

Whenever I see the words free-will or your own choices, I am reminded of one of the closing verses in the Bible, Revelation 22:17, The Spirit and the bride say, "Come." Let anyone who hears this say, "Come." Let anyone who is thirsty come. Let anyone who desires drink freely from the water of life.

Those words to any sinner are so special, so welcoming, just oozing with God’s Grace.  But it still comes down to our ‘vote’, our choice.   We need to be part of the ‘anyone who desires’, and make our vote known, in favor of an eternal election.
