Mountain Moving Faith

When Jesus replied that you could tell the mountain to move from here to there, and it will move, He followed with this statement, “Nothing will be impossible for you.”  Nothing covers a lot of things!  It could also be stated that anything is possible.  In fact Jesus also covered that in Mark 9:23, Jesus said “Anything is possible if a person believes.”  So we can see that faith and belief are somewhat the same.  You would have faith in something that you believed, and you would believe something that you have faith in.  But how much faith does it take to move a mountain?

In today’s terminology when we say we believe something we are agreeing that it is true, we are fully persuaded.  Spiritually speaking one might believe that Jesus died for the sins of the world.  But that belief will not lead them to Eternal Life unless they place their Faith and trust in Jesus as their Lord and Savior.  It is that Faith that you put in Jesus that will be mountain moving Faith.

Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see. Hebrews 11:1.  Like the woman in the crowds of people who were following Jesus.  She was an invalid for 12 years and was waiting as Jesus came by and simply held out her hand to touch the hem of His garment.  She had the faith that she would be healed and was immediately healed.  It is also mentioned where many people brought the sick and lame with the hope that the shadow that the Disciple Peter cast would pass over them and make them well.

A person cannot have Faith in life eternal, a saving Faith, unless they respond to the drawing of Christ.   Jesus told him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.  He is the only way to Heaven.  Once a person submits their life to following Christ you are a changed person, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.  It takes divine power to regenerate the human heart.  As it grows daily in spiritual wellness our Faith will lead us ever closer to Jesus.

If we want to grow spiritually and always remain in union with Christ we must come, the invitation is free, we must come and drink.  “Come.”  And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
