How Far Will Salvation Go?

We read in the Bible that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and therefore know that we are in need of change to spend eternity with Jesus instead of going to eternal separation from salvation.  But there is a comforting verse in Hebrews that gives hope to all who do want to change; Hebrews 7:25 Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.   The key word that gives hope is uttermost!

But WHO will have saving grace to the uttermost?  Don’t we all hope that we are in that uttermost group?  What defines this group are the words, those who come to God through Him.   So anyone who was born again, by believing in Jesus Christ as the Son of God, has come to God through Him, Jesus.  There is absolutely no limitation here on anyone’s past, denomination, creeds, station in life, or anything else that might show difference in this world’s things.  The born again acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, brings you to God.  So the limits of salvation are to the uttermost!   They are beyond mortal intellect to conceive of, beyond the range of thought, but is well within the power of Jesus Christ to save to the uttermost.

Now when we come to God, it sort of implies that you have left something else.   Coming to God signifies that there is some Love for God there.   When there is Love for God you will be leaving sin, you will be leaving those things in life that God doesn’t approve of.   You will become eager to learn more about God, you will want to know what God has planned for you.  Coming to God has to be a whole thing; God will not share His children with the prince of darkness.  You will be a New Creation, when you are God’s, old things will pass away.

This is possible because He lives to make intercession for them.  In 1 John 2:1 it is written that if we do sin we have an advocate in Heaven who intercedes for us.  Knowing that Jesus is going to be the Ruler and King of the world to come, who else would you want to intercede on your behalf?

So knowing how merciful God is, it probably means that there might be people in Heaven who you didn’t expect to see there, (although it is a sin to judge someone else) and there also might be some people missing who you did expect to see there.  Since everyone is born a sinner and has to be born again to except Jesus and salvation, you really don’t know someone as you think you know them.  All hearts are hidden, secret to humans, but they will go up or down after God looks within their hearts.  No one will walk up to the final judgment with any secrets from Jesus or God, they will know it all.  BUT, how would it feel to walk up to the final judgment with ABSOLUTE CONFIDENCE?   There is only one way to be able to do that.  Put Jesus first in your life and ask Him to guide you each and every day of your life!
