Satan's Multiple Weapons

Though many people don’t give it much thought today, satan IS working very hard on many fronts to win the souls of mankind.  The whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one." And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world—he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him”.  Revelation 12:9.  Satan is called the deceiver because he is a liar and the father of lies. John 8:44.  He and his many angels were thrown out of Heaven and are on this earth trying to win as many souls as possible.

Satan will be after our souls right up to our end.  As righteous as Moses and Joshua were, it states in Zechariah 3:1 and in Jude 1:9 that satan even was standing there auguring over the souls of Joshua and Moses.  He wanted to claim them for his eternal kingdom of darkness but he was overruled with their righteousness.  We must make sure that we can stand before the judgment seat and be proven righteous in front of satan’s accusations.  The only way that can happen is if we belong to Christ.

So how does satan attack us constantly throughout our days?  Leading us with lies, into ‘small harmless’ sins.  He doesn’t have to start with the big ones, it is easier to start with a small foothold.  He knows the Scriptures quite well, he can start with the seven deadly sins.  Those are easy to trip people up on.  In Proverbs 6:16 it states seven things that God hates, “There are six things the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to him: 1. haughty eyes, 2. a lying tongue, 3. hands that shed innocent blood, 4. a heart that devises wicked schemes, 5. feet that are quick to rush into evil, 6. a false witness who pours out lies, and 7. a man who stirs up dissension among brothers.”   But in the 6th century Pope Gregory stated these as the seven deadly sins ; Pride, Envy, Gluttony, Lust, Anger, Greed, and Sloth.   These all are found individually throughout the Bible as sins but are not grouped together anywhere as the seven.  But, whichever list you would want to work from you are forewarned that these, God hates.

Pride is listed first because it is said that pride leads a person to believe in his own ability, excluding the thought of God’s Grace.  It also refers to pride as the sin that most all other sins come from.  Proverbs 16:18 says that pride comes before the fall.  “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble” (James 4:6).  Along with pride, each of the other six are tools of satan.  Look at each of those words and know that God will not plant any of them in your head, if they are there, satan is at work.

If you are Jesus focused, you will have on the Armor of God which will extinguish those flaming arrows of the evil one.   So as far as spiritual warfare goes, we are no match by ourselves for satan.   Just look for instance at the top rated movies out today, zombies and walking dead and crap like that.  Just who do you think is driving that bus?  The entertainment world is his big stage to woo throngs of followers.

But the Good News of the Bible is that satan will be defeated in the end.  The Book of Revelation tells us in advance who is going to win the battle, and satan doesn’t have a chance!  So wear your Armor of Protection every day and know that if you stumble, Jesus will be there to pick you up.
