How Will My Life Change When I Follow Christ?

Are people afraid of being born-again because they don’t want their lives to change?  Is it way outside of their comfort zone, the many wonderful things that they now do in their lives?  Do we not want to turn our lives over to Christ in fear of what He will do with them?  Whatever reason we might have, we are right, there definitely will be a change.

Every urging that a person gets is a call from the Holy Spirit.  Every time you hear the words in a church sermon, it is a call from the Holy Spirit, or anytime you read the words for Jesus calling, they are an urging from the Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit will show you your need of Jesus, and He will testify of Jesus to you.  It is never any persons own mind or decision to all of a sudden decide to follow Christ; it is always by the urgings of the Holy Spirit that we will come to Christ.  "No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day. John 6:44.

So getting back to how will my life change?  If we are following Jesus we are, actively going about and doing good.  For His ways are ways of pleasantness, and all His paths are peace, Prov. 3:17.  Our thoughts would always be on ways of helping others, Phil. 4:8, And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable.  John 6:29, Jesus told them, “This is the only work God wants from you: Believe in the one he has sent.”  John 5:24, “I tell you the truth, those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life. John 1:11-13, But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. 13They are reborn.

There was a Pro-Golfer, Payne Stewart, who always wore this bracelet that had the initials, WWJD on it.  They stood for What Would Jesus Do.   A gentle little reminder that is with you always, in everything you are doing, to keep your mind focused on what Jesus would expect His followers to do, or not do.

When we choose to follow Jesus in this lifetime we are insuring that we hear the words well done instead of depart from me, when the final judgment is taking place.  If you follow Jesus you are a child of God and heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ, Romans 8:17.  Luke 12:32, it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.   And you can walk on streets paved with gold for eternity.
