Mysteries in Our

Lifetime Lesson Book

We are told in 2 Timothy 3:16 that, All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.  Scripture should be taken as an authoritative, infallible revelation of His will.  Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

It is an instruction book that will lead us successfully through this world’s maze.  It is the great standard of right and wrong, clearly defining sin and holiness.  His word revealed into the minds and hearts of His servants expressed in the words of the Old and New Testaments.  We are studying the Book of Daniel right now in our Bible Study group, and it is amazing just how exact and true the Prophesies in Daniel came to pass.

The entire Bible testifies of Jesus Christ, from the very first record of the creation where it states, “without him was not any thing made that was made” to His closing promise to His followers, “Behold, I come quickly”.  The pages in between will reveal the riches of the Old Testament and the treasure of the New Testament.  In John 1:14 Jesus is called the Word of God,  And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us.  All that man needs to know about God has been revealed in the life of His Son Jesus, the Word.

When I first retired I decided to read through the whole Bible.  It was sort of a mistake because I was reading to complete my objective, not to absorb anything.  Many truths in the Bible are plain to see and understand, but there is so much more that our finite minds will not understand without study and help from the author.  We need to enlist the aid of the Holy Spirit to lead us and helps us to see the hidden truths and meanings.  The more we search the Bible, the deeper is our conviction that it is the Living Word of the living God.  No man can improve the Bible by suggesting what the Lord meant to say or ought to have said, there truly is an answer for all things.

As we navigate through the Old and New Testaments we come to understand the Holiness of God, who is deserving of our right conduct, in fact He demands perfection, Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.  God will not accept anyone as His child until they accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior, than His Holy Spirit will begin the rest-of-our-life process of perfecting us to prepare us for Eternal life with Him.

Each believer should seek understanding from the Lord, to whom each of us alone are ultimately accountable.
