The best journey of our lifetime is to get booked on the endless journey.  Reservations are being taken every day of our lives; we just need to step on board.  The point in our life that we board has a profound impact on the life we will enjoy, although if we don’t board until late in life we will all get to the same paradise. 

 

     The only cost to begin this journey is to realize that we are sinners.  Everyone has to own-up to the fact that we all have sinned and fall short of God’s glorious standards.  This naturally happens to everyone when we know we have done something wrong.  Not all wrongs are sins against God but our conscience helps us realize when we do something wrong.  It doesn’t seem to go away until we deal with it.  When we commit a wrong that is also a sin against God we will know it.  Our conscience won’t let us forget. 

 

     I believe that everyone knows that there is a God that they will have to answer to someday.  (Although all religions have their own gods, we will refer here only to the Christian God of the Bible)  As we go through life there comes a time when we realize that we need to be on that narrow road (endless Journey) instead of the wide path that many are going to take.  We need Jesus, for there is none other name under Heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.   Jesus is the only way to salvation.

 

     The Good News for the sinner though is that God has unfailing love for us.  Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts. Let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them, and to our God, for he will freely pardon.  God is waiting patiently for us sinners to get on board.

 

     So when we repent of our sins and seek forgiveness we are turning from our sinful ways, desires, lusts, habits, idols or whatever was keeping us from God, and asking for new direction in our lives.  That new direction is the endless journey that the word implies, will never end!  It is a journey in this life that will be filled with God’s plan and purpose for our life as long as we are following Jesus, born-again.

 

     Being born-again spiritually, God through His Spirit comes to dwell in you, and will lead you into all truths.  To help us deepen our knowledge and faith we need to read God’s word.  Along with Bible reading we need to pray.  Praying is our open line to God and when we pray according to what His word says, you can bet He hears us.  Jesus made a comment on those that do and don’t read His words, To those who listen to my teaching, more understanding will be given, and they will have an abundance of knowledge. But for those who are not listening, even what little understanding they have will be taken away from them.  The ‘more understanding’ comes from reading, learning and praying for knowledge.  Jesus promises to reward you with more understanding.
