Our Eternal Home

The book of Revelation explains in great detail, the eternal home of those whose names are written in the Book of Life.   Every Christian believer lives with the hope of the New Heaven and a New Earth where they will spend eternity with their creator, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God.  Rev. 21: 2-4.  Can anyone’s mind visualize being in the presence of the One that created everything?

When you read through Revelation Chapter 21 you see the beauty described as, the city was pure gold, like new glass.  The foundations and the gates made of precious stones, with the street made of pure gold, like transparent glass.   The size of the New City is measured; he measured the city with the reed: twelve thousand furlongs. Its length, breadth, and height are equal.  That’s approximately 1,500 miles square.  I read somewhere that is about the distance from Maine to Florida, squared.  What makes this enormously big is that it is also the same measurement high, resembling a cube.

In Chapter 22:6, we read that, “These words are faithful and true.”  Knowing that, we should earnestly seek God while we can here on this earth.  One of the opening verses in Revelation tells us that we will be blessed if we read, and hear, and keep those things that are written in it. Rev. 1:3, Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near.  Then in the last Chapter  we read one more invitation; Rev. 22:17, And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.  This is an open invitation to receive salvation from Jesus. He will not exclude anyone who comes to Him.

Look at those God inspired words, whoever desires, take the waters of life freely!  The invitation has no limit or exclusion here, WHOSOEVER comes, can take of the water of life FREELY!  The core of Christianity is Grace, that God invites man to take the water of life freely.  Although this is written in the last page of the Bible, in the last days of earth as we know it, doesn’t mean that someone can repent at that late date, for in chapter 16 verse 17 it is stated; “It is done!  Individual destinies have already been chosen by this time in earth’s history.  The Bible says that we should, "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.   Those that go down that wide road might not have made their choice by the time they met their destiny.
