Saved or Lost?

Why is the distinction between the saved believer and the unsaved person such a gray area?  The Bible states that unsaved are blind to the eternal things, 1 Corinthians 2:14 The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit.  2 Corinthians 4:4 The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.  (we know who that god with small g is) Satan doesn’t want the unbeliever to know what the Bible says; he will keep them in the dark as long as possible.

Man is not said to be lost in the eyes of their fellow man, or by the standards of this world.  The subject is not discussed enough if at all.  Man is lost because he doesn’t measure up to an infinite Holy God.  Isaiah 64:4 "We are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousness’s are as filthy rags."  But, God has faithfully revealed His plan of redemption in His written word.  So to put one’s self on the saved side of the ledger, you must know God’s plan, and you must follow God’s plan.

First you would have to stop being led by the god with small g, and submit your life to the Living God that has unfailing Love for you.  John 6:29 "Jesus answered and said unto them, this is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent."   There is no person, not even the most revered Pastor that you might know, who could hope to claim righteousness on their own merit, or works they have done, to be right with God, yet the weakest, smallest, most insignificant person who stands with Christ is a child of obedience in the sight of God.   Romans 5:19 For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.   He being in Christ is a child of obedience; the unsaved one being in Adam is a child of disobedience.  In Adam disobedient and lost; in Christ obedient, righteous and acceptable to God.

So according to the Bible, there are only two kinds of humans, depending on your believe and faith, or your lack of it, the two kinds are either saved or lost.  Joshua 24:15 Choose today whom you will serve.

Happy is the individual who believes what God has written, and rests in the redeeming work of Christ as his only deliverance from the hopeless estate of the lost.
