Past Struggles

In the book of Ephesians you will find a simple "six word Gospel" that shows God's Grace and Love for humanity.  "Once I...But God...So now"     Found in chapter 2.

1"Once I was dead because of my disobedience and my many sins...4  But God is so rich in mercy, and He loved us so much that even though we were dead because of our sins, He gave us life when He raised Christ from the dead...19 So now you are no longer strangers and foreigners. You are citizens of God's family."

So even though we can never erase the past we can come to accept that God can!   Hebrews 8:12 For I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more.”   I live on that hope in the Word of God that He will not remember the wrongs that I did.

Many people think it is unfair for the mass murderer or the child killer to have a death bed acceptance of Christ and be saved to Eternal life.  Those situations are sort of a gray area for the mortal mind to accept.  But you have to go back to the Word of God in the Bible, Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.  Remember the two criminals who were crucified with Jesus?  Don't know for sure what their crimes were, but one said Remember me Lord when you come into your Kingdom, and Jesus replied to him, Today you will be with me in paradise.

God doesn't look at sin on a case by case basis to decide if He will grant forgiveness.  In the Old Testament, anyone could receive atonement for their transgressions by simply following the prescribed steps.  Similarly, to anyone desiring forgiveness today, it is freely available through Christ’s death on the cross. Ephesians 1:7-8 “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace which He lavished on us”   Look at the God inspired word, 'lavished', that is how much He wants to forgive us of our sins so that we can spend eternity with Him.  Does that include that child killer?  We won't know that until we get there.  God does know every persons heart.
