God Saves
It’s not by our Good Works; it is a Free Gift of God

How does God save us?  This is a mystery that touches nearly every aspect of God and man. A mystery that is explained throughout the Bible, yet most people don’t give it a second thought, since they assume they are saved. This assumption follows the thinking that they have lead a ‘good life’ and are not nearly as bad as ‘those bad people’, and God will surely take them to Heaven for that reason.

But the Bible has the story that was written by God that fully explains how He will save those that He will be spending eternity with.  That statement is not to sound exclusive, or predetermined as some would say.  No, the Bible was written for EVERY person that has ever lived.  Not one person is excluded.

The plan of redemption was determined before the foundations of the earth.  Since God is all-knowing He must have seen that man could not live within the Law that all humans would be born with sin and therefore would be destined for eternal death.  But our Loving God Trinity had a plan to save us.

It focuses on God’s purpose for His creation and His plan for redeeming that creation from sin, a work that involves the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

God the Father sent the Son to deal with the problem of sin. What the law was unable to do and what we were unable to do for ourselves, God did by sending His Son to die on our behalf (Rom. 8:3). Jesus Christ satisfied the righteous demands of God’s law, and as a result we have been declared righteous. We do not have to fear condemnation for our sin (Rom. 8:1, 29–30) when we accept this gift of salvation with Faith and put our trust in Jesus for our life.

Those who have been justified through faith in Christ receive the Holy Spirit. The Spirit gives us new life and enables us to resist sin (Rom. 8:12–14). The Holy Spirit gives us a sense of assurance that we belong to Christ (Rom. 8:15–16). He prays to the Father on our behalf (Rom. 8:26–27). As a result of His ongoing ministry, our subjective experience confirms what the objective truth of God’s Word says about us.

The combined testimony of God’s Word and His Spirit, supported by the evidence of God’s grace displayed in the transformation of our lives, gives those who belong to Christ the courage to face the most difficult circumstances in life. There is no power on heaven and earth that can separate those who belong to Christ from the love of God the Father. No earthly circumstance can undo the work of God on our behalf.

Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved (Rom. 10:13).
